I can use just three words to explain what VUPlayer can do: play audio files. The nice thing about this free audio player for Windows is that it provides support for lots of audio formats. You can use it to play MP3, MP4, WMA, and other audio formats; you can use it to play songs from an audio CD; you can use it to play an audio stream or an existing playlist.

As mentioned above, VUPlayer is a free audio player for Windows. I bring this up to mention a couple of things. The first one is that support is provided for pretty much any Windows edition you can think of. And the second one is that installing VUPlayer on a Windows-powered PC is a very straightforward matter.

VUPlayer has a tabbed interface that can be customized. From the View menu you can play with several options for the interface – set it so the interface is always on top, change the playlist fonts, view elapse or remaining time, and so on. From the Visuals menu you can bring up a Mini Control window, an oscilloscope, a VU meter, and other interesting visuals.

VUPlayer has lots of useful functionality to offer: play locally stored audio files, play audio streams, play audio CDs, open playlists; convert audio files; retrieve disc info from freedb.org; play, pause, stop, random play, jump to track, and more; multiple visuals; graphic equalizer; hotkeys; and more. Since VUPlayer is free software, you have all the time in the world to uncover everything that it can do.

In conclusion, I’m just going to say that VUPlayer is a user friendly audio player that provides support for lots of audio formats and is offered for the great price of free.

Pros

VUPlayer should work just fine with any Windows edition. The audio player has a tabbed interface that can be customized. Lots of audio formats are supported. Use VUPlayer to play locally stored audio files, play audio streams, play audio CDs, open playlists. VUPlayer has several visuals to offer. There are lots of settings to play with. VUPlayer is free software (donations are welcome).

Cons

None that I could think of.
